JTI® was formed 12 years ago as J. Technology, Inc. to manufacture vehicle security systems. The three founders of the company had worked in the vehicle security industry for many years and decided that they could “build a better mouse trap” themselves. They decided to name the product line “Nobody Messes with IT®. While the name may be strange, it does define what a vehicle security system is supposed to do; namely make sure your vehicle is safe. The company began in a small garage. The first system produced was the JT2, a simple security system with 2-button remote controls and a single-stage impact sensor. The company had a few dealers in Florida and expanded from that point. The company introduced its first remote starter in 1995.
